Firstly, I would like to say welcome to our new page and first article! We hope this can become a great source of information, news and articles about essential oils and aromatherapy.
Many people are still new to the world of essential oils so here is some basic information about the background. The use of essential oils and aromatherapy keeps growing and is becoming more and more popular year on year. Many people now realise that the chemicals in everyday household items have no benefits AND have negative side effects. People, therefore start to look for natural alternatives.
One of the most important factors to know with aromatherapy is that 100% Pure essential oils are concentrated and very potent. They need to used very carefully to gain the wonderful therapeutic benefits for your mind and body. Not to mention, cleaning, freshening the house and keeping insects at bay!
Rules and Regulations
We would love to shout out to the world what essential oils are good for, however, we are bound by rules and regulations. We can’t say that essential oils can be used for medical conditions as they are not licensed medical products. What we can say is that they can help with certain circumstances, like everyday aches and pains or help to promote a restful night. Frustrating, as we know the powerful effects of essential oils, but have to stick to the UK guidelines. Nonetheless, hospitals, doctors, nurses and many professional therapists are using aromatherapy in their practices more often.
Lavender Essential Oil
The most popular oil is Lavender essential oil. It has been used for centuries to promote a restful night and help calm with everyday stresses and strains. In more recent years, large manufacturers are selling products, like lavender pillow sprays and lavender hand creams, to a name a few. The Lavender essential oil in the hand cream can help with sore, dry hands. Then, in the pillow spray it can help promote a restful night. With these benefits, and so many more, Lavender essential oil has been very popular during the recent pandemic. Top tip: add a couple of drops to a tissue near your pillow, it can help you drift off at night.
We will cover lots of topics over the next few weeks and go into more detail with more essential oils.
